In this hands-on mixed media workshop, participants will explore the art of found poetry collage — combining cut text with collage to create expressive, story-rich compositions.
Using recycled materials, magazine clippings, vintage papers, and found objects, students will learn how to “find” poems hidden within existing text and transform them into unique works of art. The workshop encourages experimentation with composition layering, and visual storytelling.
Participants may create narrative scenes, abstract text-based pieces, or character-driven collages inspired by memory, imagination, nature, or personal symbolism.
No writing or art experience is necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to play. This workshop is ideal anyone looking for a creative, reflective process.
Participants will leave with one or more finished collage poems and new techniques for continuing their own mixed media exploration.
